"Blessed are your eyes,
because they see: and your ears,
because they hear...  To you it has been
granted to know the mysteries of the
Kingdom of Heaven."
Matthew 13:16

Spiritual eyes and ears give us the ability to understand spiritual things.  Jesus, speaking to His disciples - those who loved Him and believed in Him - said, " But blessed are your eyes, because they see: and your ears, because they hear...  To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of heaven..."  When we say that God is knocking on the door of your heart, it means that God is speaking to your heart with the still, small voice of His Spirit.  You do not hear God speaking audibly, but with the "ears of your heart" you hear His voice calling you to follow Him.

revealed, then you also will be revealed
with him in glory."
Colosians 3:2-4

The eagle glides in the heavens, high above the storm clouds. Mounting up on the  wind.  and rising to great heights., he is not concerned with earthbound life below.  Likewise, those whose minds are stayed on things above are not concerned with earthly gain.    They do not seek their own way, pursuing selfish ambition, but have their eyes fixed on heaven.  Their pursuit is  knowing God, understanding His will, and following in His footsteps.
